Sindhu Swadhyay Sanstha (SSS) was established on September, 5th 2015. Since 2019, SSS is recognized as one of the department of University of Mumbai. Sindhu Swadhyay Sanstha offers 2 years masters degree programme in Zoology with specialization in Oceanography and Fishery Technology. Since its inception SSS is working diligently to accomplish its mission of achieving academic excellence and providing research and entrepreneurship opportunities to the young aspirants.
SSS envisions providing a healthy and competitive environment to the learners to expand their knowledge and scale up the skills which industry demands. The University’s curriculum is relevant and continuously adapting to address new social and economic challenges in a global context. Along with classroom teaching-learning, the revised curriculum also focuses on the on-field hands-on practical learning and training. Many field visits and institutional-industrial visits are also incorporated in the curriculum. These experiences provide a practical component to the theory taught in the classroom and enhances the foundational knowledge of the learner. This will translate into creation of skilled manpower to cater to the maritime and allied industries in India and abroad. Further, SSS nurtures a research temperament in the learners so that it enables them to choose further research pursuits after completion of the masters programme.
We strongly believe that innovation and creativity is the foundation of any institution to mark its position in this era of globalization. Hence SSS has pledged to encourage the young minds to nurture their ideas and thoughts and spread the wings in their field of interests.
SSS also aspires to emerge as a leading institution on a global platform. In order to achieve that we have collaboration with national and international institutions to keep the relevance and sustenance in the Oceanography and allied areas. Though in infancy, SSS has MoUs with Naval War College, Goa and Oceans Institute of the University of Western Australia, Australia signed by the Premier (Chief Minister) of Western Australia, Australia.
With a student-centric approach, SSS aims to raise its standard and bridging the gap between academics, research & industry requirements. I welcome young aspirants to join us to fulfill their ambitions and merge their aspirations with our endeavors to escalate the excellence.
